Club Event at Wanaki Golf Course - Results

Beautiful day. Greens were a bit slow but the rest of course was very playable. And some nice golf was played by a few of the Currie boys!!

3 golfers broke 80 gross. Dave Ullenberg shot 78 and John Dobroski and Gary Fenzl both shot 79. Nice rounds boys!!

The event for the day was an Individual Net with 2 Flights. Both Flight winners were under par net. A Flight winner, Scott Brandt, was -3 Net and B Flight winner, Jim Sauceda, was -4 Net. Ullenberg was also -1 Net. Great job fellas!!

Scott Brandt will receive $45 for winning A Flight, Ullenberg took 2nd place and will get $30, Jeff Kapp was even par and took 3rd and will get $20 and Tom Condella finished +1 and took 4th and will get $10.

Jim Sauceda will get $45 for winning B Flight, Bill Zolandz and Pete Tarantino shot even par Net and will receive $25 each and Jeff Camosy and Ryan Thompson tied for 4th place at +1 and will each get $5.

There were 4 skins for the day. John Hirsch, Gary Fenzl, Dave Ullenberg and Tom Condella each had a skin. Congrats boys!!

MCPLA Team Match at Whitnall Park Golf Course - Results

Gentlemen –

It wasn’t a great day for the Currie lads today, but we did manage to hold onto first place for the season with now just 2 matches remaining. The greens were fast, the rough thick and gnarly in spots, and the wind swirled, all contributing to tough scoring.

Greenfield won the event with 132 points, Oakwood took 129, Whitnall 118, and we took 4th place with 114. Brown Deer, who had been just 7 points behind us going in, managed just 88 points today. For the season we are in first place with 391 points, Greenfield is 5 behind us with 386, and Brown Deer is in third with 358.

Our top point men today were Steve Jaeger with 16, Jim Sauceda with 15, and Pete Tarantino and Mark Cuthbert with 13 each. Our medalist was Dominic Carini with 80. Cuthbert shot 85, Phil Levin 87, Jaeger 89, and everyone else was 91 or higher. None of our guys won a skin or a flag event. A tough day. Still, we held onto our rightful place at the top of the pack for the season, a good place to be with 2 matches to go, the next at our house in 2 weeks.
