MCPLA 62nd Annual Arnold Walker County Championship - Results

Good weather and good course conditions at Brown Deer Park made for a great tournament with some low scores being shot in several flights. I would like to thank PGA Professional Dave Labinski, his awesome assistant Tony and Course Superintendent TIm Wegner and his staff for great conditions and awesome help in making this tournament a success. I also had the help of some great volunteers each day. Starter Glen Jaeger, and on-course help from John Kugel and Bob Gerszewski made my job easier and I thank them all. The use of the BlueGolf system was a nice addition and made the live scoring a great addition to the Tournament.

Congratulations go out to Jack Schultz for winning and defending his Championship in record breaking fashion. His 64 and 131 total are the lowest I could find in our record books! He joined his father David as Arnold Walker winners as David won in 1992!! Dave Ullenberg blistered the A flight winning his second Arnold Walker title. Jeff Kapp captured the B flight by 1 shot. Dave Frederick won the C flight in a similar fashion. It was awesome seeing so many younger players enter. This ensures that the tournament will continue for a long time. A special kudos goes out to Tyler Leis who is going to be a senior at Franklin High School for shooting a fantastic 78-77 from the black tees in the Championship Flight. I look forward to seeing him getting better each year!

Gift cards will be mailed out to everyone not having accounts set up at their home clubs computers. Scores were posted for MOST everyone. The new software could not find everyone so make sure you check your postings to see if you need to post your own.

On a personal note, I would like to thank everyone for their kind works and patience this year with the new software and on my struggle to deal with the unexpected death of my younger brother. He was a very special person and it is sometimes hard to understand why things happen.
