I would like to thank PGA Professional Scott Walecki and his assistant Chris and the rest of
the staff for their help. They had everything organized and ready for the tournament well in
advance. The course was in superb shape and provided a true test for all of the contestants.
Please remember to thank these people for their efforts and support of the MCPLA competitive
golf program.
Many thanks to the to dedicated volunteers who gave many hours of their time to help run the
event smoothly. Thanks to starters Glen Jaeger and Jay Anosov, John Haeflinger, Rich
Luczkowski, Bob Greszewski and Bob Albightson for their excellent help. Without volunteers,
these tournaments would be more difficult to run.. Many thanks also goes out to Arnold Walker
for his on course work both days.

All Club Members,
We were greeted with a fantastic weather weekend for our Club Championship. I hope everybody enjoyed the competition and comradery as much as I did. The results and payout's are detailed below. Congratulations to all the victors in their respective flights. Lee Gardner is our Club Champion for the second year in a row. Scott Brandt won the A Flight, Mark Cuthbert the B Flight, and John Hirsch the C Flight. There was keen competition in each flight, so it took some low scores to come out on top. Nice playing to all!
A few thanks are in order for helping make this such a successful weekend. First of all, thanks to head pro Dave Labinski for presenting us with a challenging, but fair, course set up. The course itself was also in very nice shape. Thanks also to Dave for the score keeping and coordinating the tee times with me. Thanks to President Jeff Brandt and Treasurer Brian Pederson for allowing the club to pick up the tab both days for beer and soda. This was much appreciated and aggressively taken advantage of by our "thirsty" crew. Thanks to Jeff Camosy for his continued assistance with our tournament set up's and Blue Golf expertise. Thanks to everybody who participated. I hope to see you all at our final event and club meeting on September 29th. The deadline for signing up is September 24th.

Club Event at Hawthorne Hills - Results
Congrats to all the team winners and a special congrats to Jake Boulware for getting his first hole in one on the 190 yard 8th hole...5 Iron. We've been fortunate with some fantastic weather and the Irish 4 Ball provided some interesting competition, something we'll do again next year.

Second Team at Currie - Results
Gentlemen –
The home team had a big day at Currie today, winning the event with 251 points and taking back our rightful position at the top of the standings for the season with just one match to go. The weather was awesome, and the course was in great condition with some tough pin positions and gnarly rough surrounding many greens.
The 2 teams ahead of us going into the match, Whitnall and Oakwood, won 184 and 145 points respectively, so we leap frogged them to stand in first place for the year, 21 points ahead of 2nd place Whitnall, and 74 points ahead of 3rd place Brown Deer.
Thirteen of our 16 guys took 12 or more points and six took more than 20, Darrell Frenzel leading the way with the max, 24. Our humble captain managed 23, Dominic Carini took 22, and Rich Saks, Tom Condella, and Gary Zwirlein grabbed 21 each.
Carini had the low score among the field, a nice one over par 72. Frenzel shot 78 (really), and Phil Levin and Condella 79.
We did not win any flag prizes, but Saks won a skin with a birdie on 16, and Jim Sauceda took one with a birdie on 1.
Our usual summaries are listed below.
With one match to go, our season point leaders are Zwirlein with 66, Saks with 65, and yours truly with 61. Saks has played in only 3 of our 4 matches, averaging an excellent 21.7 points in those matches.
A reminder - you have to post your own scores for this event. The club will not be doing that for you.
The final match will be at Greenfield on Saturday, September 1. It will be fun.
Big thanks go to Dave Labinski, who did an excellent job of running things today, including the scoring, and to Director Pederson for his good work all season.
