First Team at Dretzka Results

Thank all of you for participating and making my captains debut quite a successful showing.  I know it wasn't easy for all of you to commit to playing on mother's day so I really appreciate the effort. We finished 3rd with 104 points behind Whitnall with 133 and Oakwood with 112.  It was a difficult scoring day as the course played long and the rough was pretty thick.  I think we all hung in there tough and got all the points we could possibly get.  Definitely a nice start to the season!

Honor Scores:
Dominic Carini and Jeff Kapp              81
John Dobroski                                      84
Nadar Pakroo and Jake Boulware       88

Thanks again to all who participated.  Whatever the outcome, I appreciate you representing our club.  Our next match is Saturday, June 3rd at Oakwood.  If you know you will be available you can let me know asap.

Phil Levin
Captain, 1st Team

Opening Second Team Match at Grant 5-6-17

Gentlemen –

We started the season with a nice victory at Grant Park  today, gathering up 236 points with our closest challenger, Greenfield, 29 points behind at 207.  Brown Deer took third with 200 points and Whitnall 4th with 188.  It was a good way to serve notice that The National is not letting up after winning the season championship 7 of the last 8 years.

All but 5 players took 14 or more points today, new club members Dominic Carini and Nader Pakroo leading the way with the max 24.  Darrell Frenzel,  Rick Reiter, and Brian Pederson took 22, 21, and 20 respectively.  Carini was our medalist with 72.  Pakroo shot 73, and Frenzel 79 to round out our honor scores.

Reiter took a flag prize, closest to the pin on number 2, and our guys took 5 skins, all with birdies.  Reiter took one on number 2, Steve Amble on 6, Bill Zolandz on 12, Pakroo on 15, and Frenzel on 16.  As part of the second group through hole 12,  I put my name on the long drive flag, but regrettably it failed to hold up.   Maybe next time.

A couple summaries of the results are listed below.

The next match is set for Saturday, June 4 at Whitnall.  I’ll start recruiting a team in a week or so, so if you think you can do well there and want to play, let me know.

Thanks to everyone who came out today.

I’ll see a bunch of you tomorrow,

Jack

5/13 Currie Park Event: REGISTRATION DEADLINE APPROACHING!

Currie Men,
Our first event at our home course this season will be on 5/13 and, as is tradition, will be a 2Man Best Ball and you can PICK YOUR PARTNER.

Click here to register: 5/13 Current Event - REGISTRATION PAGE (Registration DEADLINE IS 5/8 at 9:00am)

Send me (don’t reply all) your choice for a partner…first come, first serve. You don’t HAVE to pick a partner, I will pick one for you if you don’t by pairing high handicap with low handicap, etc…until everyone is partnered up. If we end up with an unpartnered player, his partner will be chosen via a blind drawn in the clubhouse after the round.

Here’s the people who are registered already…if you think you’re registered then make sure your name is on that list, if it isn’t then go out and register!
