MCPLA Second Team at Brown Deer Park Golf Course - Results

Gentlemen –

We had a tough day out at Brown Deer today, but we persevered and held on to win the season championship for the 11th time in the last 14 years. Congratulations to everyone who played and to the whole Currie Men’s club. That is a record to be proud of.

Oakwood won the event today, collecting 138 points, Brown Deer took 2nd with 118 points, Greenfield 3rd with 109, and we tied Whitnall for 4th with 106. On the season we finished 29 points ahead of Oakwood and 60 ahead of last year’s champion, Greenfield.

Our point leader today was Jerry McGrath with 17 points. Jeff, I go low everywhere, Camosy took 15, Mark Cuthbert 14, Bryan Olen 12, and Darrell Frenzel 10. Cuthbert was our medalist by 7 shots with a nice 79 in tough conditions. Olen took our only individual award, a skin with birdie on 10.

Our season long point leader was, drum roll ………………………………………………..………., Darrell Frenzel with 64, one more than Steve Jaeger. Cuthbert took 60, and Camosy 59. McGrath, playing in just 3 of the 5 events took 53 (18, 18, 17), quite a record.

So that winds up another successful Second Team season, the Dynasty continuing! Many thanks go to outgoing Director Brian Pederson for doing a wonderful job of running these team matches for the last dozen years or so. Incoming Director Tony Puglielli has very large shoes to fill.
