Club Event at The Golf Club at Camelot - Results

Camelot Participants,

The details and payouts, including skins, are listed below.  We had a spectacular day weather-wise and the golf course was in great condition.  For those of us who hadn't played there before, I think we found out that the layout requires a bit of local knowledge and the greens proved to be quite tricky.  They were, however, in very nice shape and rolled beautifully.  At 6,300 yards I thought the course, overall, played longer than I anticipated, but certainly not beyond the capabilities of our experienced veterans.  Congratulations to the top three teams that cashed in.  My observation is that the teams that played holes 16,17, and 18 the best, when all 4 scores were counted, were the winning teams.  Nice work!

Skins: $13ea.   Pedereson, #2, Schreindl #3, Wolter #4, Dobroski #6, Levin #7, Boulware #13 & 14, Bowring #15, Jeager #17, Carini #18.

Thanks,

Phil Levin
VP

Currie/Hon-E-Kor Challenge - Results

Well it was a beautiful day to say the least!!! And a good time was had by all!! So good we might do it again in October!!! Please let me know how many of you are interested in doing this again in October!! The boys at Hon E Kor seemed receptive to the idea!! And I am pretty sure we will be not be starting at 12:30 PM again!!!

Anyway the day started with a tie in the first event, the 2 man best ball. So it was 6 to 6 after one event!!

Event 2, the team scramble we managed a win, 6 1/2 to 5 1/2!!! So once again we were ahead in the match going in to the singles matches!!

But once again they took us to the cleaners in the singles matches 17 to 7. So . . . we broke even in money matches but lost the cup!!!!

We will get them next time!!!

After 7 years (events), Hon-E-Kor now leads Currie in this Challenge 5 - 2.

We do have a couple of highlights from the day Jeff Camosy and Austin Mader (his first Hon E Kor visit) both won all 3 of their matches!!

Thanks to all that enjoyed the day and represented Currie Park Men's Club!!

Second Team at Whitnall - Results

Gentlemen –

We had a good showing at Whitnall today, tying Grant for first place in the event with 136 points.  We had the lead most of the day, but in the last foursome, the Grant player, Wade Carlson, came in with the low score of the day, 76, taking all 18 points to pull into a tie with us.  Kudos to him.  For the season we remain in first place with 281 points.  Grant is second with 250, Greenfield third with 242, and Oakwood fourth with 225.

Darrel Frenzel led us with 18 points, recovering nicely from an 8 on the first hole.  Mark Cuthbert took 16 points, and Steve Jaeger 14, and 4 players took 13 points each.  Our medalist was Dominic Carini with 79.  Frenzel carded 81.

In special awards Carini took closest to the pin on 18, Ullenberg took longest putt on 11, Director Brian Pederson took a skin on number 14, and Frenzel took 2 skins, on 2 and 9.

The course was in great shape, and James Grogan, the Whitnall pro, handled everything very well, including a 30 minute rain delay.

Remember to post your scores.  They are not posted for you in these team events.

The next match will be at Grant on Saturday, July 18, starting at 7 AM with low handicappers going out first.  I’ll be recruiting a team in a week or so.

See ya,

Jack
