Club Event at Ives Grove Golf Links - Results

It was beautiful day and the course was in nice shape. Some very nice scores came with that!!! And it was nice to see Lee Gardner!!!

Corey Mader topped the scores with a fine 3 over par 75!!! Kenny Collins shot 77 and Daniel Pung, Kurt Beronja and Dave Ullenberg shot 78!

Almost half the field shot under par Net!! Highlights were Ryan Thampson at -5, Jesse Alba and Mader at -4, and Collins and Scott Brandt were at -3. Great playing by all!!

The competition was a Stableford event with 3 players leading the scoring with 40 points. Ryan Thompson, Jesse Alba and Corey Mader all won $50!! 4th place was Kenny Collins at 39 points and he will get $30. Tied for 5th at 38 points were Kurt Beronja and Scott Brandt and they will get $17.50 each. And splitting $10, each scoring 37 points were Jeffrey Langlois, Dane Czaplewski and Rufus Evans.

There were 10 skins on the day!! Mader had 3, Beronja had 2 and Alba, Ullenberg, Evans, Jim Sauceda and Gerry McGrath all had one each!!

MCPLA Team Match at Currie Park Golf Course - Results

Gentlemen –

The Currie Team won the MCPLA team match today at the National, scoring 130 points, beating runner up Greenfield by 20, extending our season lead to 25 points with just one match left. Brown Deer came in third with 118 points and Oakwood was 4th with 114. For the season we lead with 521 points, Greenfield has 496, and Brown Deer 476. That gives us a decent cushion going into the finale at Dretzka in late September.

Our leading point winner today was Super Sauce with 16. Phil Levin and yours truly had 15 each, Jeff Kapp took 14, and Dominic Carini and Mark Cuthbert took 13 each. Nine of our 12 players took double digit points, a good all-around showing.

Medalist for us was Levin with a fine 79. Kapp and Carini scored 80, and Cuthbert 81.

Congrats to Rob Sweeney for getting longest drive on number 3 and to Doug Bowring for closest to the pin on number 13. Doug also took a skin for a birdie on 13.

Sometime in the coming weeks there should be county gift cards at Currie for those awards.
