We had a great day at the National on Saturday!
Congratulations to TOC guest Gary Fenzl for the low round of the day with a 76. That excellent round also advanced him to the championship match play final. Only two other golfers managed to break 80: Jeff Brandt with a 78 and Jeff Kapp with a 79. Nice shooting!
Here are the results from our net event:

- 2nd Place: Brian Pederson – Net 70 ($25)
- 3rd Place (tie): Jeff Brandt and Jeff Kapp – Net 71 ($17.50 each)
- Remaining Prize Pool (tie): Jaeger, Weigley, Beronja, and Rufus – Net 73 ($3.75 each)
Additionally, 8 skins worth $18 each were won by Koontz, Fenzl, Sauceda, Alba, Cuthbert, Rufus, Scott B., and Carini.
The year-to-date TOC standings have tightened up considerably, but the number one spot is still up for grabs. I hope to see another great turnout for our final event at Oakwood on 9/20.

Congrats to Mike O'Neil (75) for the low round of the day and Steve Wolter (76) was just one stroke behind. Great job!
O'Neil was also the net event winner with a net 69 and will collect the $30 winner's share. Also cashing in:

Although the greens were a little slow, we saw some great scores today. Mike O'Neil led the pack with a 74. Five golfers shot 76, Sweeney, Beronja, Jaeger, Cuthbert, and Simon Evans. Collins shot 77 and True shot 78.
7 skins worth $15 and change were won by O'Neil (2) Beronja (2) Jones, Jaeger, and Collins.
Our net event winner with a sizzling 62 was Simon Evans! ($30) Right on his heels was Jeff Camosy with a 63! ($25) and Rob Sweeney with a 68 ($20). Four golfers tied for 4th place at 69 ($7.50 each) Sauceda, Jaeger, Hirsh, and Jones. Well done!

Despite the challenging conditions we had two players break 80! Mark Cuthbert with a 77 and Rob Sweeney with a 79.

When you pay your green fees simply ask the golf course staff if there are any restrictions on golf carts. Then follow these rules.
No restrictions on carts = play everything as it lies.
Cart Path Only = lift, clean, and place on your fairway only.
No golf carts allowed = lift clean and place anywhere.

We finally had a great day for weather!
Unfortunately, that did not translate to great scoring. Whitnall played tough with an average gross score of 86.8. Just two golfers broke 80. Kurt Beronja shot 77 and Steve Jaeger shot 79. Well done!

Now for the good news. Earnings for the net event were slightly under reported at the clubhouse. Apparently "beer math" is not quite as accurate as spreadsheet math. Only 3 golfers were in the red at minus one and earned a share of first place. Congratulations to Bill Zolandz, Steve Jaeger, and Jeff Brandt. ($25 each) Great shooting!
Garbers took solo 4th with even par ($15) and the rest of the prize pool was shared by Sweeney, Beronja, Hirsh, and Mcgrath ($3.75 each)

We had a great turnout for TOC # 1 at Greenfield with 36 participants! The weather was not ideal but ok for April golfing in Wisconsin. The course conditions were challenging to say the least. The rough was so long that anything not finding the fairway could easily be lost. Balls found in the rough could sometimes be difficult to advance. In addition, there were a few areas on the course that probably should have been marked grounds under repair. The “Tour of the County” (TOC) is an opportunity to play in organized, competitive golf outings, outside of the regular club events. You must be a member in good standing in the Currie Park Men’s Golf Club to participate. Essentially, you compete against your personal handicap, in a relaxed and friendly setting. Pairings are varied for each outing. This is a good way to get to know other members of the club, to get in practice rounds, or to just play more golf. USGA rules apply and everyone is expected to maintain the appropriate pace of play. Carts are optional.
