MCPLA Second Team at Dretzka Park Golf Course - Results

Gentlemen –

The Currie Second team had a good day today out at Dretzka, winning the event with 144 points. Greenfield was second with 126 points and Oakwood third with 121. We moved into a first place tie with Oakwood for the season at 265 points. Greenfield is third at 232.

Ten of our 12 players scored in double figures, Darrell Frenzel and Rich Saks leading the way with the maximum of 18 each. Bryan Olen chipped in with 17. Dominic Carini was our medalist with 79, and Saks and Frenzel both shot 82. In individual awards Saks took a skin with birdie on number one, Steve Jaeger took another with birdie on 18, and outgoing Director Brian Pederson took long putt on the third hole.

The golf course was in wonderful shape, and the greens were awesome. Thanks to Scott Walecki for running the event efficiently and handling the scoring.

Our next match is at Greenfield in just 2 weeks on Saturday, July 2. I will be recruiting a team this week, so let me know if you think you can score there and want to play.

Currie/Hon-E-Kor Challenge - Results

Good time was had by all but the Hon-E-Kor boys were not hospitable enough to let us win. But it was closer than it has been in many years!!!

We beat them in the first event (team best ball) 5.5 to 4.5, they killed us in the scramble event 7-3 and that usually is one of our strong events!! Then in the singles it was the closest it has ever been 10.5 to 9.5. With the final score being 22- 18.

Scott Brandt was the only Currie member to win all 3 of his points!!!

Good time, good golfing and an overall great day!!!

Hon-E-Kor was once more a great host. Cant beat the price, the lunch was wonderful, course was in great shape but play was a bit slower that normal for this event!!!

After 9 years (events), Hon-E-Kor now leads Currie in this Challenge 7 - 2.

Club Events at Rolling Meadows Golf Course and at Glen Erin Golf Club - Results

Hello gents,

First I want to thank Phil Levin and Jeff Camosy for stepping up in my absence to handle the scoring!!!

At Rolling Meadows on Saturday Alton Weigley won the event with a net 72!! And Jeff Kapp shot a 79 gross!! Nice rounds both of you!!!

2 Skins were won by Eric Schreindl and Dave Ullenberg, one skin each for Jeff Kapp, Dominic Carini and Corey Mader. Hope all had a great day!!

At Glen Erin on Sunday Doug Bowring shot a net 68 to win the event and Justin Gorski shot a 76 gross. Great shooting boys!!!

Single skins were won by Corey Mader, Mark Cuthbert, Justin Gorski, Scott Brandt and Steve Amble!!

Obviously the weather did not affect play on Sunday either!!!
