First Team at Greenfield Results

Currie 1st Team:

Here are the results from our 1st Team match at Greenfield this past Saturday.  It was a beautiful day and I thought the course was in great shape.  The set up was challenging and had some pretty interesting pin placements.  We finished in 4th place with 80 points behind Oakwood, Whitnall, and Greenfield in that order.  Given that we still have 2 matches remaining, including a home court advantage at Currie National, I still think we have an opportunity to advance our position into the top 3.  I appreciate all of you who participated and grinded out all the points we were able to get.  I thought you all did a great job of representing our club.  The low score was turned in by Dominic Carini with a 76 and 9 points.  Dave Ullenberg shot a 77 and led the club in points with 14.  Rich Saks was second in points with 11.  Nice job Rich!  Congrats to Jed Kennedy who got a skin with a 3 on #13.  Our next match is August 9th at Brown Deer.

Thanks again to all of you.  I'm looking forward to our remaining matches.

Second Team Results at Oakwood 6/25/17

Gentlemen –

The Currie Second Team had a decent day today, not up to our usual standards, but not too bad.  We took third place in the event with 217 points behind Oakwood’s 237 and Brown Deer’s 235.  We started the day with a 63 point lead over Whitnall for the season, and ended with a 54 point lead over second place Brown Deer.  Oakwood is another 28 points behind Brown Deer, in third place, and Whitnall dropped to 4thplace.

Eleven of our 16 players took 10 or more points, Brian Pederson leading the way with 24.  Mike O’Neil took 20, Jeff Camosy 19, and Tom Jardanowski 18.  O’Neil and Dominic Carini were our medalists with 76, Ken Collins coming in 2 strokes back at 78.

Currie men took one skin and 3 flag events.  Doug Bowring took the skin on number 1, Rich Saks took closest to the hole in 2 on the 16th, O’Neil took closest in 2 on the 5th, and I managed closest to the pin on the par 3 4th hole.  And for the umpteenth time today, yes, I did make the 18 incher.

The normal summaries are listed below, and the big spreadsheet with all the hole scores is attached for those of you who want all the details.

Next up is Greenfield on July 22nd, a Sunday.  We will start at 6:00 AM with the low handicappers going first.

Thanks to all of you who came out to compete, and thanks to Director Pederson and to the Oakwood staff for a great job running the event efficiently.  The course was in great condition and the greens were awesome.

Have a good week,

Jack
