Only two golfers broke 80 on Sunday. Corey Mader shot 77 and Dominic Carini shot 79.

We had 2 guys drop out that morning with injuries!! I hope things are OK with them!!

Thanks to Scott Brandt for showing up and filling one of those spots at the last minute and letting me know about a scoring discrepancy. That discrepancy changed the skins outcome. There were only 6 skins not 7!! Golfers that won skins were Eric Scheindl, Corey Mader, Dominic Carini, Ken Collins, Doug Schafer and Glen Barkow. Congrats boys. And if your last name is Collins, Barkow, or Schafer I still owe you a few bucks!!!!

We have to, as a club, make more of an effort to keep up with the group in front of us or at least be vigilant of our pace of play. Thank you!!

Club Event at Washington County Golf Course - Results

Hello boys,

Quick recap . . . beautiful day, course was in great shape and some good golf was played!!

Winners of the 2-man 1 net best ball event were:

Fred Steiner and Alton Weigley      -7    $80 team
Cory Mader and Pete Tarantino      -6    $50 team
Darrell Frenzel and Doug Schafer    -6    $50 team
Austin Mader and Gerry McGrath    -5    $25 team

There were 5 skins. Ken Collins, Chuck Garbers, Gary Fenzl, Corey Mader and Larry Dake each had one!!!

Some great individual scores were played also!!!

Gerry McGrath was -3 net and Alton Weigley and Doug Schafer each shot one under par net!!

Also, Gary Fenzl shot gross 76 and Mark Lucas shot gross 79!!

MCPLA Two-Man Best Ball at Dretzka Park Golf Course - Results

Perfect weather along with good course conditions lead to a very competitive tournament today at Dretzka Park. This was a great field with 96 players competing on Sunday. I am looking forward to seeing a huge field at the Arnold Walker Tournament this year. Congratulations to Dave Church and Mike Fischbach in the gross division and to Scott Brandt and Brian Pederson in the net division. The Tournament went off very well thanks to PGA Professional Dave Labinski and his awesome staff. Huge thanks to starter Glen Jaeger, spotter Bob Gerszewski and Rich Saks. These guys make my job much easier with their hard work. It was awesome to see so many new faces entered, I hope you all had a good time and consider playing in the Arnold Walker!!

Congrats to all of the Net and Gross flight winners. Gift cards will be mailed to everyone as soon as possible.

Club Event at Wanaki Golf Course - Results

Hello gents,

40 CPMC members showed up on Sunday to play Wanaki and a fun 4 man event!!! Greens were a tad slow but all of us got thru it!!!!

The winners of the Irish Four Ball event were:
Doug Schafer, Harry Markos, Henry Mayer and Steve Wolter who shot 15 under par.

Second place at 12 under par was the team of Jesse Alba, John Dobroski, Steve Amble and Steve Satula.

Third place at 9 under par was the team of Bryan Olen, Scott Brandt, Mark Cuthbert and Tom Condella.

Team payouts are $120 for 1st place , $60 for 2nd place and $40 for 3rd place.

Congrats to all!!!

There were some really good individual scores too!!

Bill Zolandz, Doug Schafer, Gerry McGrath, John Dobroski, Henry Mayer, Bryan Olen, Scott Brandt and Jack Bruss all shot net scores under par!!!

Mike O'Neil, Chuck Silkey, Steve Wolter, Jeff Brandt, John Dobroski, Jeff Kapp and Mark Lucas all broke 80 gross!!

Good playing by all!!!

There were 5 skins paid out too!! Tom Condella, John Dobroski, Henry Mayer, Chuck Silkey and Steve Wolter each won $33!!

MCPLA Team Match at Dretzka Park Golf Course - Results

Gentlemen –

Well, we couldn’t quite pull out a victory in the match today, but we did hold on to first place for the season.  Greenfield took 126 points to beat us by just 2 stinking points.  Grant also took 124 points, tying us for 2nd place.  For the season it looks increasingly like a 2 team race, with us holding a slim 2 point lead over Greenfield.  Oakwood and Grant are both 73 points behind us.

 Bill Zolandz was our high point man today, grabbing 17 of 18 maximum points.  Gerry McGath took 15, Rick Reiter took 14, and Steve Amble 13.  Our medalist was McGrath with 81.  Darrel Frenzel was one back at 82, and Amble shot 83.
