Gents,
In spite of the fact that Hartford got over an inch of rain on Friday night, the golf course and particularly the greens were in pretty nice shape. Because of the restrictions on carts there were of number of participants that had to withdraw from the event. As a result, what was originally going to be a flighted event was changed to a full field competition.
Bill Zolandz dominated the "dojo" with a total of 43 stableford points and a net score of 65. Way to go Bill!! Doug Schafer also had a nice performance with 40 points followed by Scott Brandt at 38. Honor scores were turned in by Chuck Silkey with a 74, John Dobroski and Mike O'Neil with 77's and Scott Brandt with a 79. $30 skins were won by Levin, Dobroski, Silkey and Fenzl.
Event Payouts: 1st, $60 Bill Zolandz, 2nd, Doug Schafer $50, 3rd, Scott Brandt $40, T4th, Mark Schreindl, Brian Pederson and John Hirsch $22ea. T7th, Phil Levin, Steve Jaeger $5ea.

Club Event at Washington County Golf Course - Results
Hello boys,
Well, the weather cooperated but it was not a nice day at all!! Mist, rain, a bit of sun, wind, clouds most of the day . . . We had quite a weather day!!
The course was in pretty nice shape considering all the rain we've had!!
Most of us were looking forward to the Irish 4-ball event but that had to change because of a few no shows!!

MCPLA Club Ryder Cup Challenge at Oakwood Park Golf Course - Results
Currie Ryder Cup Participants:
Given all the rain, Oakwood was in great condition. The weather threatened but ultimately allowed us all to finish, and the Currie men remained in contention throughout the afternoon. We were close, but ultimately we finished 3rd, just 2 points behind Greenfield's winning team. The final team standings were:
Greenfield: 12.5 points
Brown Deer: 11.5
Currie: 10.5
Whitnall: 8.5
Oakwood: 5.5
Grant: 5.5
The dynamic duo of Bryan Olen and Doug Schaefer took all 3 points, and the teams of Pederson/Collins, Silkey/Fenzl, and Levin/Sweeney each got 2 points.
Special shout out to Tim Nielson, President of the host Oakwood Men's Club and Oakwood Pro Adam Anderson did a fabulous job in their work organizing, officiating, and scoring the event.
I want to thank everyone on our Currie team for coming out for what was a very fun and highly competitive event which ended Oakwood's 2-year reign as holders of the MCPLA Ryder Cup. We can take heart in a 3rd place finish, and start thinking about winning the whole thing next year when it will be hosted by the new trophy holders at Greenfield Park.
I'd be interested in everyone's thoughts about the event, and what if anything can be done to refine and improve it.

MCPLA Team Match at Oakwood Park Golf Course - Results
Gentlemen –
It was a close battle out at Oakwood today, as the top 4 teams all finished within 5 points of each other. Oakwood won the event with 122 points, Greenfield took 121, we were third with 119, and Grant took 4th place with 117. We jumped up to our rightful spot at the top of the season leaderboard, now holding an 8 point lead over Whitnall and an 18 point lead over Greenfield.
Our top point earners today were Rich Saks and Doug Bowring with 16. Pete Tarantino picked up 14, and Mark Cuthbert, Dom Carini, and Steve Jaeger all nabbed 13. Our medalists were Carini with 82, Jaeger 85, Cuthbert 87 and Brian Pedersen 89. Everyone else was 90 or higher as the course played tough with high winds and soft fairways.
Thanks to everyone who came out and competed, and helped overcome a zero point debacle by the team captain. He hopes to get his head out of his ass before the next match, which will be held at Brown Deer on Sunday, June 30th.
Currie guys took 2 individual awards, both on number 6. Doug Schaefer won a skin with a birdie, and Scott Brandt took long drive.
