Club Championship at Currie Park Golf Course - Results

Congrats to Dave Ullenberg our 2024 Club Champion!!!!

He and Chuck Silkey battled today, I know I watched it, great playing by both players!! Both were 8 over par for 2 days in very tough conditions!! The course was in great shape, the greens rolled true and the roughs were fair but thick!!!

There were only 5 rounds under 80 for both days!! Chuck and Dave had 4 of those scores!!

Dave won in a playoff, making a 69 ft. putt (according to Dave) from off the green on the first playoff hole!!

Saturday was cool and breezy. Sunday was breezy and a bit warmer!! And once again the course was in fabulous shape!!!

Congrats also to our A flight Champion, Steve Jaeger!!

 Our B Flight Champion, Glen Barkow!!

And our C Flight Champion, Dan Seiter!! Dan is a new member this year and he won his flight in a playoff with Corion Jones!!

We will pay the top 4 spots in each flight. First getting $70, second $50, third $30 and fourth $20.

There were 3 skins on the first day. Won by Jake Boulware, Eric Schreindl and Dave Ullenberg.

There were 6 skins on Sunday. Won by Wayne Suess, Henry Mayer, Harry Markos, Brian Pederson, Dave Ullenberg, and Chuck Silkey.

Great turnout for club championship!! Don't understand guys not showing up for the second day!!! Just sayin'!!!

Club Event at Glen Erin Golf Club - Results

Hello boys,

We need to figure out why we only had 13 guys want to play Glen Erin!!??
Anyway, beautiful day if you like hot and sticky!!
Course was in nice shape with the rough being very thick!! So it did play a little tough!!
But not tough enough for Chuck Silkey who shot 76 gross!!
Nobody broke par net!!

MCPLA Team Match at Brown Deer Park Golf Course - Results

Gentlemen –

The Currie team had a good showing down at Brown Deer today, winning the event with 133 points. Brown Deer finished just 2 points behind us with 131, Grant Park was third with 120, and Greenfield was fourth with 108. That leaves us in first place for the season, 38 points ahead of Greenfield and 63 ahead of Grant, as we head to the final match, which will be held at Grant on Saturday, August 17th. It’s a nice lead we have built up over the summer, but we, of course, will not go into the final overconfident.

High point man today was Dave Ullenberg with all 18 points. Brian Pederson took 17, John Hirsch took 16, and Bryan Olen and Steve Jaeger took 15 each. Ullenberg was our medalist with a fine 76.

Our only individual award was received by John Hirsch for closest in 2 on the 16th hole.

Thanks to all of you who came out to compete today and in previous weeks as well. We have a good chance of putting that Team match trophy right back where it belongs, in the Currie Park clubhouse.
