Club Event at Johnson Park Golf Course - Results

Good afternoon,

Sting once sang in a song "Heavy cloud but no rain", well that was yesterday at Johnson Park!! Some very lite misting but no rain. We were very fortunate!!!

The course was in very nice shape!! Greens rolled very nicely and the course played a little longer as it was a bit wet.

2 golfers broke 80. Scott Brandt shot a fine 78 and John Dobroski shot 79. Nice rounds!!

Scott also won the low net for the day at -5. He won $60. Rick Reiter shot a nice 2 under round and will get $50. Doug Schafer and John Hirsch tied for 3rd at even par and will each receive $35. Mark Cuthbert was at 1 over par net and will get $20. And a 4-way tie for 6th place, at 2 over net, Phil Levin, Bill Zolandz, Rob Sweeney and Steve Wolter will all receive $6.25 each!!

There were 4 skins on the day, John Dobroski getting 2 of them and Rob Sweeney and Scott Brandt had one each!!

MCPLA Two-Man Best Ball at Oakwood Park Golf Course - Results

MCPLA 2-Man Best Ball champions:

The largest field that we've ever had for the Two-Man came out to Oakwood last Sunday for a spirited and competitive event. Congrats to the John Bechard-Jim Sell team from Greenfield Men's Club for posting -4 to win the gross division last weekend, and to the Chuck Silkey-Harry Markos team from Currie Park that not only posted -10 to win the net division, but registered a cool Markos ace on the very tough 175 yard par 3 13th hole. Well done gentlemen, and besides the $260 1st place prize, we may just decide to give you X's to wear on your respective backs at next year's event. Also, we want to thank Oakwood Pro, Adam Anderson and his staff for a job well done in serving as starters, rangers, and scorers, all contributing to a smooth running competition with outstanding pace of play that was generally under 4:30. Also, thanks to Brian Grossman for setting the event up on Golf Genius for registration and live scoring, and to the tournament committee of Glen Barkow, Will Barrett, Bob Freuck, and Kurt Beronja.

Winnings will be posted to merchandise accounts by the end of July and available for use at any County pro shop.

MCPLA Team Match at Brown Deer Park Golf Course - Results

Gentlemen –

We had just an ok day at Brown Deer today, finishing 4th with 111 points. Oakwood won the event with 123, Whitnall took 120, and Grant 119. For the season, we dropped out of first place but are only 1 point behind first place Whitnall. Oakwood is in third place, 21 behind us, and Greenfield is another 25 behind them.

Our top point getters today were Darrell Frenzel with 16, Mike O’Neil with 15, and Dave Ullenberg, Steve Jaeger, and Brian Pedersen all with 12 points. O’Neil was our medalist with a nice 74, Ullenberg shot 76, and Frenzel scored 82.

Steve Jaeger took closest to the pin on number 5 for Currie’s only award.

Brown Deer was in wonderful shape today. Thanks to Scott Walecki and Jake for hosting us and running the computer for the scoring, and thanks to all of you who came out and competed today.
