Club Event at Broadlands Golf Club - Results

Hello gentlemen,

The day turned out pretty nice. The course was a little wet and played a little long. The roughs were thick and fescue even thicker!!

But some good golf was played!!

Eric Schreindl shot a very nice round of 76. John Dobroski shot 77, which happens to be his age!! And Steve Wolter shot 79.

Only 5 golfers shot below par net!! Brian Pederson shot -3 net, Eric Schreindl was -2 net and Jack Bruss / Alton Weigley / Scott Brandt were -1 net.

And thanks to Brian Pederson, who happened to be my partner, we won the 2 Man Net Best Ball event shooting 6 under par!! Pederson and Wolter will split $80.

There was a 4-way tie for second place at 5 under par. 
The teams of Zolandz/Mader, Frenzel/Weigley, Dobroksi/Jeremy Jones and Thompson/Schreindl will each get $37.50. That is $18.75 per person.

There were 5 skins on the day. Steve Wolter won 2 skins and Doug Schafer, Scott Brandt and Eric Schreindl each had one skin each!!

And thank you to Eric Schreindl for helping me with scoring!!

Club Championship at Currie Park Golf Course - Results

Hi guys,

Well, we got the first round in!!

Mother nature took over and we did not have a second day. Hopefully our home course recovers from her wrath!!!

Course was in nice shape. Roughs were thick, greens were nice and Currie showed its teeth!! Well for some of us!!

Some really nice rounds were played!!

Our new Club Champion, Chuck Silkey, shot a 3 over round of 74!!

Congrats to Chuck on getting the Club Championship after losing the last 2 years in playoffs!!

Dominic Carini, Jake Boulware and Scott Brandt shot 77's and Eric Schreindl shot 78. Nice job!!

Champ Flight winner, Chuck Silkey, will get $70 and a plaque, Dominic and Jake will each receive $40 for their 2nd place tie and Eric will get $20 for his 4th place finish.

A Flight winner, Scott Brandt will also get $70 and a plaque. Rob Sweeney and Mark Cuthbert will receive $40 each for their 2nd place tie and Rufus Evans and Phil Levin will each get $10 with their 4th place tie.

In B Flight, Doug Schafer shot his best round ever at Currie and took first place and will receive $70 and a plaque. Alton Weigley took 2nd place and will get $50. Tied for 3rd were John Hirsch, Gerry McGrath and Tom Condella. They will split $50.

C Flight had a tie for first place. Both shooting -1 net were Ben Sevener and Bill Zolandz. They will each get $60 and a plaque. Chuck Garbers took third and will receive $30. Tied for 4th were Johnny Torch, Jim Sauceda and Corion Jones. They will split 4th place monies of $20.

There were 7 skins on the day. Eric Schreindl had 2 and Jeff Brandt, Steve Wolter, Jake Boulware, John Hirsch and Rob Sweeney all had one skin apiece. They were worth $25 each.

MCPLA Team Match at Currie Park Golf Course - Results

Gentlemen –

It was a tough day for the home team at the National today. We picked up just 107 points and finished 4th in the event. Greenfield won with 134 points, Whitnall was 2nd with 116, and Grant was 3rd with 112. We are still in a fairly good position for the season, sitting in 2nd place, just 10 behind Whitnall. Greenfield is 3rd for the season, 19 points behind us. Oakwood is another 13 behind Greenfield.

Our top point getters today were Mark Cuthbert with 17, Dave Ullenberg with 15, Jim Sauceda 14, Jeff Kapp 12, and Doug Bowring 11. Ullenberg, Kapp, and Cuthbert all broke 80 with 76, 78, and 79 respectively.

Currie had 2 individual awards yesterday, both skins. Jeff Kapp took one with a birdie on 10 and John Hirsch got another with a birdie on number 3.

Currie was in wonderful shape today, and thanks go to Nic and his staff for that and for handling the scoring and flag events today. Also, thanks to Mike O’Neil for serving as starter, but not for showing his bruised hip to anyone who wasn’t quick enough to look away. Hopefully, some of you were spared that image.
