Second Team at Dretzka - Results

Gentlemen –

The Currie Second Team had a good day at Dretzka today, winning the event with 238 points.  We have won both this seasons events now with 2 more to go.  We stand in first place with a 54 point lead over Brown Deer and 65 over Whitnall. 

Five of our guys scored 20 or more points, Phil Levin and Jeff Camosy taking 22, Chuck Garbers and Dave Ullenberg taking 21, and myself scratching out 20.  Ullenberg was our medalist with 76, while Levin, Rich Saks, and Gerry Mcgrath all shot 80.

Our only individual award was long drive by Ullenberg on number 8.

Our next match is just 2 weeks from today at our home course.  I’ll be recruiting players over the next 4 or 5 days.

Club Event at Whispering Springs - Results

On Saturday, Spring was not Whispering.  It was more like hollering at us to stay off the course until the lightning and thunder let up.  Although it did rain on and off once we were on the course, the conditions were tolerable and the course was actually in really great shape.  I hope everybody had fun in spite of the challenging weather.  Congratulations to the winners Jeff Camosy and Mark Cuthbert finishing at -12.  Nice playing!  Complete results and payoffs are below including skins payouts.

MCPLA Spring Championship at Whitnall - Results

2019 MCPLA SPRING CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT RESULTS
Whitnall Park Golf Course, May 18 & 19, 2019

REMINDER: EACH PLAYER MUST POST HIS TOURNAMENT (T) SCORES FOR HANDICAP PURPOSES AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

Rain, Rain, go away!!!!!! Somehow we managed to finish this tournament despite the incredibly bad weather forecasts!! The last few groups finished Sunday's round is what can best be described as a scene from Caddyshack!! Rain and wind coming sideways, lightning, and thunder. Kudos to everyone who finished for prevailing in trying conditions. PGA Professional James Grogan, Superintendent Jason Rosploch, and their assistants did an excellent job providing great conditions and service despite trying weather conditions. Their assistance was incredible in making this past weekend a success. Much thanks to starters Brian McKinley for his great job keeping the tee times precise. Also a huge thank you to rules official PGA James Grogan for his on-course help. Finally a huge thank you for scoring help from Rich Luczkowski, Jay Anosov.

Congratulations to Mid-Am Champion John Bechard, Sr Champion David Malson, Sr “A” Flight Champion Jon Kappes and Sr “B” Flight Champion Bruce Myslis. John shot a sparkling 65 on Saturday in route to his victory. Those who cashed will be mailed their merchandise gift cards, they are redeemable at any of the County courses.
