MCPLA Team Match at Grant Park Golf Course - Results

 Gentlemen –

 

There was an error in the way points were calculated by the computer last week at Greenfield.  The long and short of it is we finished second in the event instead of first.  A few of us lost a point or 2 and a couple of us gained.  Greenfield won the event by 3 points over us with Grant third.  The updated files are listed below.

 Gentlemen –

 The Currie MCPLA Team began the 2023 season in fine fashion, winning the event at Grant in a close one over Greenfield.  We took 127 points to beat Greenfield by just 3.  Oakwood and Grant tied for third place with 115.  The golf course was in excellent shape, and the pins were in some devilish spots, keeping scores on the high side. 

 

Our high point men were Chuck Garbers and yours truly with 17, and Doug Schaefer, playing in his first ever Team Match, with 15.  Mark Cuthbert was our medalist with 81, Bob Cristan shot 83, and Gerry McGrath and Steve Jaeger 84. 

 

We also picked up 2 individual awards, Pete Tarantino winning a skin with a birdie on the second hole, and Steve Jaeger taking closest to the pin on number 5.

Club Event at Currie Park Golf Course - Results

Well, what a beautiful day we had yesterday at Currie!!! Course was in fantastic shape!!

The event was a 2 Man Net Best Ball.

We had a tie for first place:

The team of Brian Olen and Jeff Kapp and the team of Jeff Brandt and Darrell Frenzel each shot 65 or 6 under par. Each player will collect $35!!

Then we had a 4 way tie for 3rd place.

The teams of Henry Mayer and Eric Schreindl, Jeff Camosy and Fred Steiner, Rob Sweeney and Scott Brandt and Jake Boulware and Steve Wolter all shot 67 or 4 under par. Each player will collect $11.25.

Some real good individual rounds were also played:

Bryan Olen shot -3 net. Great round!!

Eric Schreindl and Chuck Silkey each shot 2 over par rounds of 73!! And Tyler Burns shot a 4 over round of 75!! Pretty good early in the season golf!!!

Club Event at Hawthorne Hills Golf Course - Results

Hello CPMC,

Some real nice scores were posted:

Brain Pederson shot 76 gross and -6 net!!!

Gary Fenzl shot 76 gross, Jeff Kapp 77 gross, and Scott Brandt and Chuck Silkey each shot 78 gross!!

Club Event at Shepherd's Crook Golf Course - Results

Hello boys,

Well it turned out to be a pretty nice day!! I was not real keen on playing but it turned out to be a nice day. A tad windy but all went well and the course was in great shape.

No real highlights for the day so we will get in to the winners for the day.

Individual low net was the event for the day:

1st place

3rd place

Club Event at Meadowbrook Country Club - Results

Hello boys,

Well it was quite a day!! We endured sleet, snow and rain all in one round of golf!!

Thanks to the 20 die hard members who showed up and stuck it out!! Shows the grit of CPMC golfers!!! Or maybe the craziness!!!

Anyway, we had a Net 2 Man Best Ball event.

Team event leaderboard:

Fenzl/Hirsch            -8    $40 each
Barkow/Cuthbert        -6    $30 each
Bowring/Pederson      -5     $20 each
Camosy/Lucas          -4    $15 each   
Mayer/Sweeney        -3    $5 each
Garber/Wolter         -3     $5 each    

We did have one golfer play a great round of golf!!! Gary Fenzl shot a round of 76 in those wonderful conditions!!!

Besides Gary, there were only 2 other golfers with under par net scores!! They were Glen Barkow and Jeff Camosy!!

There were 6 skins, Gery Fenzl had 2 and Mark Lucas, Phil Levin, Gerry McGrath and Doug Bowring had one each.
